 A deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle using slower, more targeted pressure to release tightness and tension in the muscles and connective tissues. Relaxation massage uses a gentler approach with lighter pressure to calm the body, ease stress, and still provide effective muscle relief without the intensity of deep tissue work. 

 If you enjoy heat, such as hot tubs or saunas, and have no health concerns, hot stone massage is usually a great option. The warmth helps relax muscles more deeply and enhances relaxation. If you have any medical conditions or concerns, please speak with me before your appointment so we can ensure it’s safe and appropriate for you. 

 Aromatherapy enhances your massage by engaging the senses and supporting both physical and emotional well-being. Carefully chosen essential oils can help reduce stress, ease muscle tension, improve mood, support digestion, and even boost immunity. It adds an extra layer of relaxation and personalization to your treatment. 

 Aromatherapy is safe for most people, but essential oils aren’t suitable for everyone. Individuals who are pregnant, have epilepsy, severe asthma, certain skin sensitivities, or allergies to ingredients like citrus or menthol should consult a healthcare provider before use. Mild side effects can include skin irritation or headaches in sensitive individuals. At Rest & Refresh, every blend is customized, and your safety and comfort are always the priority. 

 Absolutely. You can request more or less pressure at any time during your treatment. If something feels too tender or you’d like deeper work in a specific area, just let me know. I won’t be offended—your session is for you, and you should feel comfortable and in control throughout the entire treatment. 

 Your massage includes a treatment tailored to your specific needs, using either gel or oil based on your preference. Every session also includes at least one hot towel treatment, and you’ll leave with Epsom salts for home care. You’re also automatically enrolled in the Rest & Refresh loyalty program, where every sixth visit earns a $45 discount. 

 Yes, I can direct bill to most insurance companies. If you’d like to confirm that your provider is included, please check the list on the Pricing page or reach out before your appointment and I’ll be happy to help. 

 I accept direct billing to insurance, cash, debit, credit, and e-transfer. E-transfer is the preferred payment method. 

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. Late cancellations or missed appointments leave gaps that could have been offered to another client. For this reason, 24 hours’ notice is required for any cancellations or changes to your appointment.

Clients who provide less than 24 hours’ notice or miss their appointment may be charged a $45 cancellation fee. If you have a card on file, the fee may be charged to it; if not, the balance will remain on your account. You will always be notified before any payment is processed. If you are able to find someone to take your appointment time, no fees will be applied.
